This annual report of the ADF tells an important story in this year of many stories as we celebrate the 150 years of the Cathedral of St Stephen.
The report tells the story of the prudent and skilled management of money for the sake of mission. The ADF is about money, but not for its own sake. It is not a matter of mission for money but of money for mission.

The preaching of the Gospel has always cost money. Someone bankrolled Jesus through the years of his public ministry; and someone bankrolled the large, complex and costly missionary operation of St Paul around the Mediterranean world. And so on through the centuries since then. From time to time we need someone like St Francis of Assisi to say that poverty is the key to freedom; but even he needed the basics for which someone had to pay.
