Fuelling Customer Mission: Holy Cross Services, Banyo 

For more than 130 years, Holy Cross Services has provided meaningful employment opportunities to people facing barriers to work, continuing a mission first established in 1889 by the Sisters of Mercy. 

What began as a small laundry operation has grown into a respected social enterprise delivering high-quality industrial laundry and cleaning services across South East Queensland. At its heart, Holy Cross Services exists to create inclusive employment and training opportunities for people with disabilities and others who may otherwise struggle to access the workforce. 

Laundry operations remain central to the organisation’s identity and impact. As demand for services has increased and technology has advanced, Holy Cross Services has continued to invest in modern equipment to ensure both service excellence and sustainable growth. 

With funding assistance from the ADF, a new continuous batch washer was secured and installed in 2024. The German-built Kannegiesser system has significantly enhanced workflow efficiency and expanded operational capacity, positioning the organisation to respond to growing customer demand while strengthening its employment programs.

The upgrade ensures Holy Cross Services can continue to deliver high-quality services to its customers while expanding opportunities for training, skill development and long-term employment.
